I have been an extended stay room rental here for 3 months I can say it has come a long way The owner and his wife are absolutely amazing as long as you follow the rules. You have no problems at all if there's any issues, he's very fast to address them whether it be other people living there their guests or just a problem with the Roman in general and he is very kind when it comes to working out billing if he knows you and you've been staying there for sometime the shady lawn had a bad reputation from before but it's not the same place it was years ago when it got the bad reputation.

Had a great experience and its clean and its quiet, and the price is right... we paid for 2 weeks worth the first night when we checked in and because of that he didnt even charge me for lilly my 7 year old beagle dog :)

I've been staying here for a couple of weeks waiting for my housing. The owners have been nothing but friendly and accommodating. They welcomed my 2 cats at a minimal charge. The room was clean with some upgrades. The current guests have been quiet and respectful. This Motel has come a long way towards reestablishing its reputation as a more stable, trouble free place to stay.

I have been here for over a year now and I have found it to be a very quiet and peaceful place. The owners have been working with me and they have been very nice. My room is clean and I like my room. My only complaint is how expensive it is to stay here long term when you can't find housing. Luckily the owners are very much helpful. As long as you treat them with respect and their motel with respect they will be very nice and helpful in return. I have to say this place has come a long way in the positive direction and it is a good place to stay.

I temporarily rented an extended stay room while searching the Upper Valley for the right apartment. The paint is identical to the Fireside Inn, and the furnishings are all matching Cherrywood. I have a full and separate kitchen, a brand new and comfortable mattress, new carpeting, freezing cold air-conditioning, great WIFI, Movie Channels, and a brand new flat-screen. The entire hotel is quiet every night. I ended up hearing that this hotel had a bad reputation in the past, and I can say that if it did, that the new management here is doing an amazing job! The other local hotels, such as the Super 8 was loud, chaotic, and the hotel that was the one filled with crime and chaos. I was at the other place for 1 night and will never go back there again. There have been major renovations at Shady Lawn, trees planted and flowers, bushes and planters everywhere, and the property is beautifully maintained! It suited my needs more than any other local hotel could, at a weekly affordable rate....There is also a great large/small dog park right down the street and a beautiful river to go swimming in. and is less than a 1 minute drive to The Upper Valley Food Co-op, which is great! It is in a neighborhood rather than a huge commercial/business area, which is great! The old reviews are exactly that....old reviews, and some potentially from the kind of people the management WONT allow to stay here or competing hotels, hence no picture of the supposed "people" reviewing the hotel. I hope this helps to guide your choice. They deserve support as they are a non-corporate, family owned and operated business...and they truly care about your stay and their hotel.

Great little motel. Rooms are clean nothing to complain about. The owner is foreign and trying his best. I would definitely come back again to support his business!

I have read your reviews of this hotel and I'm sorry you people are ignorant because it's nothing like you all are saying me and my husband checked in here yesterday and i love it here not sure what you all are complaining about our room is clean,neat and well maintained. I want to say to the owner/management nice job love this place.
